Little Dark Age, MGMT

Little Dark Age is the third album of a cult American rock band MGMT. The album came out in 2018 and became the fourth album of the band. It was a very long awaited album as it was released after a 5-year brake in the band's activities. Recorded in LA, California, with Columbia Records label, the album has 10 songs and the length of 44:25. It was recorded in a few studios, and the songs included to the album are collaborations of the band members Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Glodwasser with other songwriters like Ariel Pink, Connan Mockasin, Jonathan Patrick Wimberly, James Richardson, and others.

The cover of the album was designed by Jim Taber years before the release of the album. It came out in the late 1980s as a cover of one of the comics magazines based on horror motifs. The cover of Little Dark Age is made in two colors, yellow and black, and includes a drawing of a clown which can be inspired by the famous Edward Munch's The Scream. As the band members commented later on, the main idea of using this artwork as the cover was to demonstrate the surprise of modern people by the political, social, sociological, and other parts of life - particularly, electing Donald Trump to be the President of the USA.

The title song of the album, "Little Dark Age", was written by the two band members together, and became one of the most famous hits of the album. Other most popular songs from the album include the songs "Me And Michael", "Hand It Over" and "When You Die". The album received very good critics and was received very warmly by their fans. Many reviewers and MGMT music followers admitted that Little Dark Age has a lot in common with the first album of the band titled Oracular Spectacular. The band supported the release of the alum by an extensive tour both in the US and many countries of Europe.
