Coronavirus Effects on Different Age Groups

In the modern days, the whole world is suffering from devastating effects of the 2019-202 coronavirus pandemic which started in China and has gradually spread to many other countries in the world. The coronavirus caused a disease called atypical pneumonia has already taken the lives of dozens of thousands of people around the world, and the number has been increasing for the last few weeks.

The countries like Italy, Spain, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Iran, and others have been reporting having high numbers of people who suffer from this disease, and the number of those who had lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic is high in those countries.

It is a known fact that the new virus which the world is facing now affects people of different ages in different ways and with different rates of danger. In particular, according to the research by New York City Health Organization, the virus becomes deadly for only 0.04% of people aged between 0 and 17, for 4.5% of people aged between 18 and 44, for 23.1% of people aged between 45 and 64, 24.6% for people aged between 65 and 74, and 47.7% for people aged 75+.

Besides, it has also been noticed that coronavirus is more deadly for men compared to women. According to the information coming from the same source, the ratio of men who lost their lives during the 2019-2020 coronavirus pandemic so far is 61.8 percent, whereas the share of the women is 38.2 percent.
