It was a French woman, and her name was Jeanne Calment.
She was born in February 1875 in Arles, France and died in the same town in August 1997.
Thus, her lifespan was equal to 122 years and 164 days, making it the longest registered human lifespan in history.
She is not just the oldest person ever lived, but also the only person who lived more than 120 years.
