Dolph Lundgren is a Swedish actor, martial artist, producer, and director, best known for his role as a Soviet athlete in Rocky IV. Born in 1957 in the Stockholm area, he grew up passionate about sports, particularly martial arts and karate. He studied chemical engineering at the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology and later continued his studies in Sydney, Australia, while competing in and winning several karate championships during the 1980s.

In 1985, Lundgren starred opposite Sylvester Stallone in Rocky IV, a role that launched his international acting career.
