Jonny Lee Miller is a British American actor born in 1972 in Surrey, England, and raised in London. He grew up in a creative family, as both of his parents were involved in acting and encouraged his early interest in the profession. Jonny began performing in his school theatre, and his professional debut came at the age of ten with a guest role on the BBC series Doctor Who.

He later gained recognition through television projects such as Mansfield Park, EastEnders, Dexter, Eli Stone, and especially for his leading role in Elementary. His film work includes Hackers (with Angelina Jolie), Afterglow, Byron, Aeon Flux (with Charlize Theron), The Flying Scotsman, Dark Shadows (with Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeiffer), and Byzantium.

Outside of acting, Jonny Lee Miller is passionate about sports and martial arts and is an accomplished marathon runner. He was briefly married to Angelina Jolie whom he met while filming Hackers, and was later married to actress Michele Hicks, with whom he has a son.
