Kevin Conroy was an American actor best known for his work as a voice performer, particularly for bringing the legendary character Batman to life in numerous animated series and related projects. He was born in 1955 in Westbury, New York, to parents of Irish descent, and grew up there alongside his three older siblings. In the early 1970s, he moved to New York City to study drama, where he trained among many talented actors, including Robin Williams.

In the late 1970s, Conroy started to make television appearances and in the 80s, scored roles on such popular shows as Search for Tomorrow, Dynasty and a few episodes of the classic Cheers. He achieved international fame in the early 1990s when he was asked to voice Batman, a role that won him tremendous acclaim. He continued doing the voice of Bruce Wayne for over 15 years, working on various animated series and movies.
