Patrick Stewart is a talented British actor known primarily for his amazing portrayal of Captain Picard in the iconic series Star Trek. He was born in 1940 in Yorkshire, Patrick was the youngest of the three boys of his parents and has been always displaying his true interest in acting. When he was 15 he dropped out high school to get focused on acting in a local theater. Later on he moved to Manchester where he started his professional career, and for over 15 years he worked just on theater stages, being a member of Shakespearean Society and receiving a few serious national awards. Stewart has been taking part in various TV projects since the late 1960s, but his cinema debut took place in the early 80s. In those times he moved to the US in order to work on various Hollywood movies. In 1987 he was invited to portray Captain Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation which remains one of the most cult roles and the most cult TV series of all times. A role of Professor Xavier in the famous X-Men movie series is one more extremely successful work of Patrick Stewart. He received a large number of cinema awards and nominations, including the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
