Antonio Banderas, born José Antonio Domínguez Bandera in 1960 in Málaga, Spain, is one of the most iconic Spanish actors to conquer Hollywood. Growing up in sunny southern Spain, he dreamed first of being a soccer star, but during high school he discovered his true calling—acting. After graduating from a local theater school, he began performing on stage, where his talent and charisma quickly stood out.

His big screen break came in 1982 when director Pedro Almodóvar cast him in one of his films, kicking off a collaboration that made Banderas one of Spain’s brightest stars.
