Akwafina is a cool hip hop singer and actress of Chinese and Korean origins. Born Nora Lum in 1988, she grew up in Queens, New York City, alongside her parents and her grandma. At school, Nora started learning to play trumpet and singing, as well as was particularly interested in jazz. When she was 15 she started making her first amateur recordings and also went on to study Mandarin Language and Chinese Culture at university.
