How old is Damon Albarn?

An English singer, songwriter, and producer, Damon Albarn is the lead vocalist of the rock band Blur and the co-creator of the virtual band Gorillaz. Born in 1968 in London, he spent much of his childhood in Essex, where he learned to play instruments including piano and violin as a young teenager. While attending school, he became friends with Graham Coxon, with whom he would later founded Blur.

Albarn helped to define the Britpop movement in the 90’s, with successful Blur albums like Parklife, The Great Escape, and Blur. The band became famous worldwide with songs like “Song 2”, “Girls & Boys”, and “Coffee & TV”. He collaborated with artist Jamie Hewlett to create Gorillaz, an animated music project that combined influences from alternative rock, hip-hop, electronic and world music in the late ’90s. The group found huge global success with albums including Demon Days and Plastic Beach.

In addition to his work with Blur and Gorillaz, Damon Albarn has released solo work, written operas and stage shows, and collaborated with musicians around the world on projects such as Africa Express. He is loved for his creativity and experimentation. By many experts he is considered one of the most influential British musicians of his generation. In 2016 he was awarded an OBE for services to music.
