Kevin Wayne Durant is one of the most successful professional basketball players of his generation. Born in 1988 in Washington, D.C., he grew up in Maryland with three siblings, one of whom also plays basketball. Encouraged by their grandmother, who believed being tall was a blessing, Kevin began playing on the Prince George’s County youth basketball team.
