Kevin Wayne Durant is one of the most successful professional basketball players of our times. He was born in 1988 in Maryland, in one of the neighborhoods of Washinton DC. He has three siblings, and one of his brothers is also a basketball player. Their love for sports was extensively supported by their grandma, who used to say that being tall is God's blessing. In his high school times, Kevin was really very tall, and his first years as a basketball player started in the basketball youth team of Prince George's County. In 2007, he was first signed up by Seattle SuperSonics and the first year in NBA was extremely successful, with The Rookie of the Year title. Next years, when the Seattle team became the Oklahoma City Thunders, Durant continued developing his success, with being one of the participants of NBA All-Star and All NBA First Team. In 2010, Durant joined American National Team and won the title 2010 FIBA World Championship MVP. In 2016 he signed up with Golden State Warriors, becoming #35 of the team (he wears this number to commemorate the contribution to the life of his old times' mentor, Charles Craig, who passed away at 35). In the 2016-2017 season, Kevin Durant managed to bring Warriors to the NBA finals, and overcome Cleveland Cavaliers led by Lebron James. In 2013, Durant was engaged to WNBA player Monica Wright, but the couple split quite soon.
