Kevin Gates is an American rapper and musician known for his special hip hop style. Born Kevin Jerome Gilyard in 1986 in Louisiana, he grew up in Baton Rouge, and his parents were of Puerto Rican and Moroccan origins. He started rapping seriously when he was in his early 20s and released his first mixtapes in the late 2000s. His mixtape "Make 'Em Believe" became popular among hip hop fans of the region, and helped Gates sign up with Atlantic Records. In 2015 Kevin released his single "I Don't Get Tired" and shortly after released his first studio album titled with the name of his first son. So far, Kevin Gates has released two studio albums and plenty of mixtapes that are easy to promote in social media. He always underlined that he was inspired by such legends as Tupac Shakur, Eminem, Jay Z, and others.
