Kim Basinger, born Kimila Ann Basinger in 1953 in Georgia, is an American actress and former fashion model who became one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars of the 1980s and 1990s. She began her career in the early 1970s as a model in New York, appearing in numerous commercials and print campaigns. Although successful in modeling, Kim soon realized that acting was her true passion and moved to Los Angeles to pursue film and television roles.
