A British actor and producer, Kit Harington is famous for his role as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones. His real name is Christopher Catesby Harington and he was born in 1986 in London, where he grew up in a creative household. His is mother is a playwright and screenwriter. Kit showed little interest in acting until the age of 14, when watching a Samuel Beckett play inspired him to join his school theatre group and explore drama more seriously.
He continued his education at Worcester College, studying Theatre and Drama, and graduated from the Central School of Speech and Drama in 2008. Kit soon began performing with the National Theatre, receiving critical attention for his role in the stage version of War Horse.
