Matthew McConaughey is an American actor, writer, producer, and model who became famous with a few amazing roles of his in the movies of the most talented Hollywood directors like Steven Spielberg and others. McConaughey was born in 1969 in Texas and grew up alongside his two elder brothers. In his childhood, Mat was dreaming about a career in jurisprudence and wanted to attend a law school. In the early 1980s, he was spotted by commercial scouts and took part in some TV project on a local television channel in Austin. It was the start for his acting career, and his first serious role was in the movie Dazed and Confused, near Ben Affleck and Milla Jovovich. He was successful in portraying a character in the historical drama Amistad and a sci-fi movie Contact, opposite Jodie Foster. The 2000s were a season for successful roles in comedy films like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Fool's Gold (with Kate Hudson), Failure to Launch (with Jessica Parker), Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past (with Jennifer Garner). Finally, in 2010s Matthew was more into taking part in more serious and dramatic movies like Killer Joe, Bernie, Mud, The Paper Boy (with John Cusack), Interstellar (with Anne Hathaway), The Sea of Trees (with Naomi Watts) and others. Matthew McConaughey is involved in various charity projects supporting children, and he used to teach at a university in Austin. He is married to Calmia Alves, a model, and the couple has 3 children.
