Mxmtoon is a pop singer and YouTuber known for several interesting hits and her skillful ukulele playing. Born Maia in 2000 in California, she spent her early years in Oakland alongside her brother Dylan and their parents.

Her mother has Chinese roots, and Maia grew up within the American Chinese community. She learned to play the violin and cello before turning 10 and began writing her own songs as a young teenager.
