Russell Westbrook is an NBA basketball player and, as of the mid 2020, a point guard of the Houston Rockets. Born in 1988 in California, he grew up in Hawthorne and began playing basketball together with his friend, with whom he used to dream to play in the NBA together. Even the tragic death of his friend didn't make Russell forget their dream and he started working even harder to reach the dream. He had a brilliant college career and in 2008 was drafted by Seattle Supersonics but ended up in Oklahoma City Thunders where he spent 11 seasons, before 2019 when he was singed up by the Houston Rockets. During the 2010s he took part in 9 All Star Games and in 2017 won an MVP title. He also has two titles of All Star Game MVP and quite a lot of other titles and awards. He played for the US National Team and received a number of Gold Medals including the ones in the World Championship in 2010 and the Olympic Games Gold in 2012.
