Saweetie is a hip hop artist and rapper who is also known as a designer and actress. Born Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper in 1993 in Santa Clara, she grew up in a large family of mixed ethnic backgrounds. She became seriously interested in music during her early teens and began composing her first songs and freestyling just a few years later.

After graduating from the University of Southern California, she began pursuing a career in music and signed with a recording company. Her first single, "Icy Girl", was released in 2018 and became very popular, supported by a massive online campaign from her numerous Instagram fans. Other hits like "My Type", "Best Friend" and "Tap In" followed, and in 2021 she announced she was working on her first solo album.
