Somber is a young rock star and songwriter who has recently made his mark on the indie rock scene. Born Shane Michael Boose in 2005 in New York City, he grew up in a musical family — his father was a professional rock musician who played in a variety of local bands. During high school, Shane took vocal lessons, and in the early 2020s he left school at a young age to fully pursue a career in music.

His debut single, “Nothing Left to Say,” was released in 2021 when Somber had just turned 16. The following year, his single “Caroline” stood out and quickly became popular. In 2023, he released his first EP, and in 2025 he achieved a real breakthrough with the hits “Undressed” and “Back to Friends,” both of which brought widespread attention and entered the Top 20 of the Billboard 200. That same summer, he released his debut studio album, which featured the singles “12 to 12” and “We Never Dated.”
