Brian Harold May is a famous guitarist, songwriter, musician, and a member of legendary "Queen" band. He was born in 1947 in Hampton, Middlesex and grew up loving physics, astronomy, studying, and working with his father. His first guitar known as "the Red Special" was made by Brian and his father Harold with their own hands. May started playing guitar seriously in high school, and since the end of the 1960s, he began playing with different bands, with "Smile" being the most successful of those and the one where he started working with Roger Taylor. In the early 1970s the band was joined by Freddie Mercury, an amazing unique singer, and soon changed to "Queen". Shortly, the band released its first albums and became among the most modern and popular rock bands of the world. For over 20 years the band was in the first lines of the charts and in many TV programs and movies, gave plenty of concerts and social events. Brian May contributed in the legacy of the band with a number of hits like "We Will Rock You", "I Want It All", "Who Wants To Live Forever", "Hammer To Fall", and many others. He released a few solo albums, with "Back to the Light" being the most successful of those. Brian May is a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) and a Ph.D. in astrophysics in Imperial College. He is interested in space-related activities and often takes part in animal protection related events.
