Yanni is an outstanding Greek musician, composer, multi instrumentalist, and music producer. Born Yiannis Chryssomalis in Kalamata, he started revealing his extreme talent to music when he was a young child. He learned to play piano when he was only 6 years old, and soon he began composing his first musical pieces. He loved a wide variety of styles starting from classical music and jazz and ending up with soft rock and pop. In the early 1970s he moved to the US to study psychology and make his first steps in his professional career. He started performing in Minneapolis and made a few very important connections there. In 1980 he released his first solo album followed by two more musical albums supported by a large tour in the late 1980s. The next decade was marked for Yanni by 6 successful albums and plenty of performances including the ones at the world's popular places like the Acropolis, theTaj Mahal, the Burj Khalifa, the Amman Citadel, etc. So far (as of the mid 2023) he has released almost two dozens of albums, two of which brought hi Grammy nominations. Also, he was among the first musicians who managed to combine electronic music with some live orchestra and exotic instruments.
