How old is Ella Mai?

Ella Mai is a British singer who first rose to prominence as a member of the trio Arize. Born Ella Mai Howell in 1994 in London, she grew up in a music-loving family and was named after the legendary Ella Fitzgerald. At 12, she moved with her family to the United States, finished high school there, and began shaping her musical path. In 2014 she returned to London to study at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute and, the same year, auditioned for The X Factor, joining Arize during the competition. 

Although the trio did not advance to the finals, Mai continued sharing her music online and gradually earned global attention. Her breakout single Boo’d Up became a chart success and led to her self-titled debut album, released in 2018. She has collaborated with Meek Mill, Kehlani, and other well-known artists. Ella Mai has been nominated for several major music awards and has already won a Grammy.
