A South Korean singer, songwriter, and global pop icon, Jin is a member of the world-famous boy band BTS, or Bangtan Boys. His real name is Kim Seok-jin. He was born in 1992 in Gwacheon, South Korea, and grew up alongside his older brother in a supportive family environment. His strong interest in art revealed itself in his childhood and later led him to study acting and performing arts at Konkuk University in Seoul.

Jin’s path to music was somewhat serendipitous as he was scouted for his visuals as a university student and asked to audition for what would eventually become BTS.
