Mariah the Scientist is a charismatic American R&B singer known for her distinctive style and experimental approach to music. Born Mariah Amani Buckles in 1997 in Atlanta, she grew up in rural Georgia, surrounded by family and friends. She developed an interest in singing during her primary school years, and later, while studying biology and medicine in college, she began writing her own songs. Eventually, she left college to pursue music full-time.

Her debut EP appeared in 2018 and led to collaborations with notable producers, including Canadian hip hop artist Tory Lanez, who worked on her first studio album, Master. The record featured standout tracks such as Reminders and Beetlejuice, which introduced her unique voice to a wider audience.
