A charismatic British television presenter, journalist, and writer, Richard Hammond is best recognized as one of the long-time hosts of the BBC motoring show Top Gear. He was born in 1969 in Warwickshire and was raised in a working family alongside his two younger brothers. After completing his studies at Harrogate College of Arts and Technology, Richard began his career in radio, working for several BBC local stations and gaining valuable broadcasting experience.

Hammond joined Top Gear in 2002 and quickly became famous for his enthusiastic personality, quick humour and genuine passion for cars. He helped turn the show into a global phenomenon with Jeremy Clarkson and James May. Richard, the youngest and most energetic member of the trio, was always warm and excited on every episode.

Over the course of his career, he battled through several serious accidents while filming, including high-profile crashes in 2006 and 2015.
