Trippie Redd is an American singer and hip hop performer who started his professional career when he was just a teenager. Born Michael Lamar White in 1999 in Ohio, he was brought up by his single mum and has been interested in music since his childhood. His hip hop idols were Tupac Shakur, Lil Wayne, and Nas, but he also listened to Kurt Cobain, Beyonce, KISS, and really varied kinds of music. After graduating from high school, Trippie Red moved to Atlanta where he managed to sing up a contract with a recording company and began his professional career as a rapper. He released his two first mixtapes and collaborated with a number of known hip hop singers like Lil Wayne, XXXTentacion, Lil Wop, 6ix9ine, Baauer, and others. His first studio album came out in 2018 and had a very warm reception. It landed No 4 in American Hip Hop charts. Trippie Redd released his second studio album in late the 2019, then one more album came out a year later. In 2021, he released his fourth solo album, and the fifth followed in the early 2023.
