Daddy Yankee is a rapper, singer, songwriter, and music producer originating from Puerto Rico. He was born in 1977 as Ramon Luis Ayala Rodrigez and grew up in one of the neighborhoods of Rio Piedras. As a child, he wanted to be a baseball player and spent a lot of effort to become a professional MLB player, but an accident involving shooting and injuring Ayala made him forget about the career of a sportsman. Thus, he decided to entirely focus on his music career. He released his first album in 1995 but it was recorded on a local studio and was not noticed outside of Puerto Rico. In 2002 Daddy Yankee released his second solo album titled ElCangri.com made the young musician popular in the Latino community. His first international single "Gasolina" released in the mid-2000s is considered to be an example of what is known as Reggaeton musical style. So far, Daddy Yankee has released 10 studio albums, 2 live albums, and a few more compilation albums.
