A popular DJ, songwriter and record producer, DJ Khaled is a well-known media personality. His real name is Khaled Mohamed Khaled and he was born in 1975 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to parents of Lebanese origin, and grew up alongside his elder brother, who later became an actor. His parents were music lovers, and although their taste ran to traditional Arab sounds, they were encouraging of Khaled’s passion for hip-hop and American soul.

After college, Khaled got a job at a record store and started to make connections in the music business. He began working for a local radio station in the late 1990s, an opportunity to learn the business, connect with artists and start promoting his own music. His first studio album titled Listennn... the Album was released in 2006. It was popular and won several music awards.
