DJ Khaled is a popular DJ, songwriter, record producer, and media personality. He was born Khaled Mohamed Khaled in 1975 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to parents of Lebanese origin, and grew up alongside his elder brother, who later became an actor. His parents loved music, mainly traditional Arabic sounds, but fully supported Khaled when he developed an interest in hip hop and American soul.

After finishing college, Khaled worked at a record store, where he began building contacts within the music industry. In the late 1990s, he became a DJ for a local radio station — a key opportunity that allowed him to learn the business, connect with artists, and begin promoting his own music. His first studio album, Listennn... the Album, was released in 2006, gaining popularity and winning several music awards.
