An American DJ and music producer, Diplo is famous for shaping modern electronic and pop sounds. His birth name is Thomas Wesley Pentz Jr. and he was bonr in 1978 in Mississippi. He later studied at the University of Florida before beginning his music career in Philadelphia. He himself produced his first mixtapes and successfully experimented with hip-hop, house, and electronic music. While trying to find his special style, Diplo created a party-focused sound known as Hollertronix, which helped him gain initial recognition.
