DMX (Dark Man X) was a popular American hip hop singer and actor who will be remembered for his hits like "Party Up", "Where the Hood At", and others. Born Earl Simmons in 1970 in the state of New York, he had a very difficult childhood and was raised by his single mom who used to be really harsh to Earl and his siblings. He spent most of his teen ages in boy's home where he made friends with local rappers and started getting interested in free-styling. He began composing songs in the mid 1980s but started his career as a professional rapper in the early 1990s. That decade wasn't too successful for him, but in its later years he released his first studio albums which brought him the first fame. During the 2000s DMX released three more albums and a few important awards and received 3 Grammy nominations for his hits as well as tried himself in cinema art. During the 2010s he continued appearing in some movies and taking part in many concerts and performances supporting such singers as Dame Grease, Ruff Ryders, etc. For his life, DMX sold over 30 million records, wrote a book and appeared in many TV programs. In April 2021 he passed away of heart attack at the age of 50.
