An American actor, singer, writer, and composer, Ethan Slater rose to fame for originating the title role in Broadway's SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical. He was born in 1992 in Washington, D.C, and has lived all his life in the US. After graduating from Vassar College, he began his stage career in productions including Hotel Cassiopeia before earning his breakthrough as SpongeBob in the musical's 2016 Chicago premiere and subsequent Broadway run. His acclaimed performance earned him a Drama Desk Award and a Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Musical.
