He was born Timothy James Curry in 1946, in Grappenhall, Cheshire, England. After studying English and drama at the University of Birmingham, he made his professional stage debut in Hair before landing the role that would define his career: Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the original London production of The Rocky Horror Show in 1973. He reprised the part in the Broadway production and made his unforgettable film debut in The Rocky Horror Picture Show in 1975.
