A charismatic and successful American actress and former casting director, Melissa McBride is mainly known for portraying Carol Peletier in AMC's acclaimed post-apocalyptic series The Walking Dead. She was born in 1965 in Kentucky, where she later began her career appearing in television commercials before making her acting debut on an episode of Matlock in 1993. She later guest-starred in series including Walker, Texas Ranger, Profiler, Dawson's Creek, and American Gothic, while also working behind the scenes as a casting director in Atlanta.

McBride broke through in 2010 when she was cast as Carol Peletier in The Walking Dead.
