Together with her family, Sophie moved to Australia at the age of two, where she received her education with extensive training in music and singing.

Sophie rose to fame in 1999 when she appeared on the reality show Popstars where she was selected as a member of all girl group Bardot. The band achieved major success before splitting up in 2002.
