Roland Collins known as Troy Ave is an American rapper and hip-hop singer. He was born in 1985 in Brooklyn New York and spent his childhood at Troy Avenue, so that's where his nickname is derived from. When he was young he wasn't even thinking about becoming a professional musician, but close to the late 2000s he tried himself in rapping and turned out to be quite good at it. In 2009 he began giving stage performances and releasing a number of mixtapes which became popular among the online rappers community of those times. In 2013 the first studio album of Troy Ave named New York City: The Album came out, and the second was released two years later. He collaborated with Lloyd Banks, 50 Cents, Young Buck, and plenty of other musicians.
