How old is Dexter King?

Dexter King was an American author, civil rights activist and social advocate who was recognized as the youngest son of the legendary and influential political leader Martin Luther King Jr. Dexter was born in 1961 in Georgia and grew up there. He was only seven years old when his father was assassinated. Raised by his mother alongside his two sisters and brother, he was very affected by his family's dedication to social justice and their values. He studied business administration in college but dedicated much of his life to activism, social work and leading initiatives connected to his father’s legacy. 

Dexter was very involved in a lot of groups that worked for civil rights and for the King family's legal rights. He also directed and acted in a number of movies and documentaries about his father's life and other important people, like Rosa Parks. He also wrote books about what it was like to grow up as the son of a famous historical figure. Dexter King passed away in January 2024 at the age of 62. He left behind a legacy in both activism and literature that will last forever.
