How old is Malala Yousafzai?

Malala Yousafzai is a world known Pakistani civil rights activist and education rights promoter who is famous as the youngest ever recipient of the Noble Prize. She was born in 1997 in Mingora Province in the north western part of Pakistan and was brought up by her highly educated parents, alongside her two younger brothers. Malala has been extremely keen on learning and exploring all the aspects of life in the world so since her childhood she used to read a lot. Inspired by her parents and such political figures as Benazir Bhutto, she started thinking about becoming social right activist, especially in everything concerning the rights of Muslim girls to receive a proper education. Due to the fact that in the early 21st century her homeland was affected by Taliban related activities, Malala started by writing a blog about her life under Taliban occupation. He writings attracted a lot of public attention, including the interest of many serious foreign magazines and newspapers. Thus, Yousafzai and her family became a target for Taliban militia. As a teenager Malala survived a few attempts on taking her life and had to move to the UK where she wrote a book and continued her social activism. In the first half of the 2010s Malala Yousafzai received a number of awards including the Noble Prize, the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thoughts, etc. Later in the decade she received Canadian citizenship and attended the University of Oxford where she studied philosophy.
