Mia Wasikowska is an Australian actor of Polish origin. She was born and grew up in Canberra, Australia, and since her childhood, she was interested in ballet. This interest further grew up into dancing and acting, which Mia studied in high school. In 2004 her acting debut took place, with a small role in Australian TV series All Saints, and her cinema debut took place a year later, in the movie Suburban Mayhem. In 2008 she was invited to take part in her first American project, the movie Defiance (with Daniel Craig). The following roles in the movies That Evening Sun, Amelia (with Richard Gere), Alice in Wonderland (with Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway), and The Kids are All Right were very successful (the latter brought her a serious cinema arts award), and in 2011 Mia finally received the lead role in the movie Jane Eyre. The latest notable roles of hers include the ones in Albert Knobbs, Lawless (with Shia LaBeouf), Stocker (with Nicole Kidman), Tracks, The Double, Maps to the Starts (with Julianne Moore), Madame Bovary, Crimson Peak (with Tom Hiddleston), The Man with the Iron Heart, and others. Mia Wasikowska now lives in the UK, and she is a huge fan of photography. Her works are exhibited and some of them have received very respectable prizes.
