Nathan Kress is an American television actor and former child model best known for his role as Freddie Benson on the Nickelodeon series iCarly. He was born in 1992 in California and grew up in Glendale alongside his two brothers. Nathan began acting and modeling at the age of four, having shown an exceptional ability to memorize and recite long passages of text, including dialogue from television shows he watched.

During his pre-teen years, he appeared in numerous commercials and worked on voice-over projects. His television debut came in 2005, when he made appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and contributed voice work to animated productions. After guest roles in series such as Drake & Josh, Without a Trace, and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Kress landed his breakthrough role on iCarly in 2007.
