Sofía Vergara is a famous actress of Colombian origin, a model, and a social activist. She was born in 1972 in Barranquilla, and spent her childhood in Columbia, in a large family of a farmer. She attended a great bilingual school and started studying dentistry in one of the universities in Columbia, but decided to quit it and pursue a career as a model. In 1998 she moved to the US where she started attending acting courses and receiving small roles in small TV shows. Soon she became a host of a few travel shows, thus American viewers could get to know her. From 1989-2001 she was involved in Baywatch production, and in the early 2000s, she had her debut in Hollywood with the movies My Wife and Kids and Big Trouble. Such movies as The 24th Day, Entourage, Four Brothers, and Meet The Browns helped her develop her talent. Sofia became really famous and familiar to the world TV viewers with the comedy TV series Modern Family, where she played one of the main roles and got a few Emmy Award nominations.
