A charming and talented American actress, Goldie Hawn is most remembered for her roles in Private Benjamin and Death Becomes Her. She was born in 1945 in Washington D.C. to parents who were both in the arts. Goldie was trained in dance and ballet from an early age and her first performances were on the ballet stage. She trained in the study of acting at American University, but dropped out of her studies to move to California and pursue a professional dance career. Her good looks and natural charm soon earned her an invitation to feature on the comedy TV show Good Morning World, which launched her career as an actress. In the late 1960s, she was a cast member of Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, which brought her wide recognition and her breakout performance in Cactus Flower, for which she won an Academy Award.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Goldie Hawn became one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, appearing in films such as Butterflies Are Free, Shampoo, Foul Play (with Chevy Chase), Lovers and Liars, Private Benjamin, Protocol, Swing Shift, Overboard (with Kurt Russell), and Bird on a Wire (with Mel Gibson). Later on, Goldie starred opposite Bruce Willis and Meryl Streep in Death Becomes Her, opposite Steve Martin in Housesitter and The Out-of-Towners, Julia Roberts, Drew Barrymore and Edward Norton in Everyone Says I Love You, Susan Sarandon in The Banger Sisters. Goldie Hawn is a strong advocate of meditation and education-focused social activism. She has been married twice and is a mother of three children, including a son with longtime partner Kurt Russell.
