Thandie Newton is a talented British actress whose career has included standout performances in both major films and acclaimed TV series. She was born in 1972 in Westminster and is partly of Zimbabwean heritage through her mother. Newton studied social anthropology at Downing College before entering the world of acting professionally. At 19, she made her screen debut in the Australian drama Flirting, which was followed by roles in Interview with the Vampire (with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt), followed by Jefferson in Paris and Beloved (alongside Oprah Winfrey).
